(Not) Lost Heritage
This collection explores Ukrainian heritage that has been lost, displaced, or preserved in fragments. The first part includes garments featuring embroidery derived from a painting by Bryanskyi, which is currently in occupied territory; motifs from Luhansk region, reconstructed from museum examples as an attempt to document and preserve cultural memory; and traditional embroidery of Slobozhanshchyna, based on research into authentic samples from Kharkiv and Donetsk regions.
Each piece in this series is an act of working with memory—restoring it and giving it presence within contemporary clothing.
