    Modern Intellectual Portraits

Ukrainian traditional clothing often evokes rural heritage. But city intellectuals also embraced and preserved this cultural legacy. Olga Koshch’s work, exemplified by her book “Ukrainian Folk Ornament” (1876, 1879), documented ancient patterns and pioneered Ukrainian ornament studies. Similarly, Ivan Franko regularly wore vyshyvanka.

Cities embrace ancestral traditions and reinterpret their experiences.

This collection harmoniously blends tradition within urban settings and modern lifestyles. First impressions matter.

Clothing communicates nonverbally, conveying values, preferences, lifestyle, and position. It’s a choice of self-expression.

    Focusing on the collection’s details:

Red embroidery on black, featuring star patterns inspired by Kyiv ornament.

Dresses and shirts incorporate Sokal embroidery elements (Lviv region)

In creating this suit, we referenced the embroidery patterns of Ukrainian women who were exiled to camps.

    Modern Intellectual Portraits

We appreciate how the new pieces carry the history of these ornaments and seamlessly combine with a restrained, strict suit style. Thus, they unite what we hold dear: villages and cities. Places of origin for our traditions, culture, grandmothers and grandfathers, childhood, memories of our growth, identity, and voice.
